Description
We have a fantastic, smart, and loving dog we have to rehome. Arlo is an anxious dog we adopted from a shelter as a puppy and we have been unable to work with him on his anxiety and fear responses as a large family. Arlo is an AMAZING dog for a single person who is active or a couple with no children that is active. He is a great hiking partner, is kennel trained, potty trained, playful, and cuddly. IMPORTANT NOTE: -NOT kid friendly at ALL. -Resource guards food mildly and needs to be fed separately, on a schedule, and in his own safe place. He is perfect with these safeguards. -He is playful with other dogs but can get anxious over food and guards when other dogs are around. We keep his food up at all times until feeding time. -Arlo has never bit a child, but has attempted to inside our home, in public he is fine with children running around. He gets anxious with new people in his home. Arlo is a great companion and we are heart broken to have to let him go but he will always struggle in our home as long as we have children. He deserves a stress free home and I know there is at least one single person or child free couple who would fit him perfectly. Rehoming fee applies $100. In order to take him, we must get details of the following: -do you have children? -does your lifestyle fit in the care of a dog? -do you have experience dealing with fear/anxiety in a dog and managing that behavior? -do you own other dogs? If so, what breed/age/gender? -how active are you? (Very important for a border collie breed) -do you have the means to afford proper care for a dog? (Food, check ups, grooming, etc.) Serious inquiries only. Arlo is a FANTASTIC dog and we only have to let him go because he is too anxious with our children and their friends. We will do our due diligence to make sure he goes to a good home. He will come with his toys, blankets, kennel, water bowl and any food we have for him, along with all of his shot records, microchip card, and records of his last check up.
