https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=14002610 I met Bill Lambert at a jam at the old castaways building next to the truck stop in Laurel De. I heard him sing a Eagle song "Desperado" nicely performed. he heard me play and invited me to Jam with some guys in Georgetown. We moved from there and went through 3 drummers till we found Russ. 2 bass players till we found Rob. Broke and hungry was born. BTW Bill came up with the name, Broke & hungry. We did long sets with a Pink Floyd and Bad Company For set 2 and set 3. All album hit music. No BS fill songs like a lot of bands do. We peaked at a club / restaurant called Why Cook? That night the band that played down the road at the sand bar got sent home early and Why cook? looked like the bottle and Cork, packed. The management came to us and said they did 1800.00 at the bar on the first set. The spirit was flowing like Church. heading into winter Bill needed time off due to personal reasons and i went on to form Deja vu. A very short lived blues Rock band with some of the members of the band that got let off early at the sand bar. Live and learn. Rob needed some time off too for personal reasons too. For most of the last 10 years Bill used to call me every other day, Talking music and singing songs he was writing at the time. He'd come up with these studio mic's that were just wrong for live performance. He'd get frustrated and cuss me and I'd just kept my mouth shut till he quit. Then I'd say, did you get it all out. 😎 and he'd say yea, i did and we'[d move on. Bill left us August 4th 2021 https://www.kimblefuneralhome.com/obituary/william-bill-lambert Bill hurt his Throat at a gig in Smyrna De. Where we had to use the house system. We got there and did a sound check and the horns were blown FOH and monitors. So he struggled the night through. before his passing he had issues imo from that night. I heard he got another band together and then left us. Everybody liked Bill Lambert. Peace to you my old friend. The MP3 posted above was done in my man cave with a mic hanging from the ceiling.
