Found/saw dog

Good afternoon. Found a Dachshund or a mix, black with brown markings, no tags or collar, walking down Knob Creek between Market and Sunset, around 12 pm Sunday 3/20/2022. He went toward the parking lot of the apartments next to the bike shop, I pulled in, opened my door and he (or she) hopped in. Waited for a couple minutes, no one came by looking for a dog. He was very calm, just sat and looked out the window. We drove around, didn't see anyone out looking for a dog. Sat on my front lawn with him for a little bit, no one drove by looking for a dog. I had him on a temporary leash and harness, he backed out and ran, and I couldn't catch him. Last seen corner of Pactolas and Morningside Drive around 1:15 pm.
