Description

We know an elderly person who has been caring for a dachshund for many years, but finally cannot care for him. He is probably 13 years or so, so he's a senior, getting old and gray! But he needs a great, loving hime so his last year(s) can be his best years! He has been “under-loved” but that is almost all he's known for so long! He is a friendly, loving dog, who's been neutered and has always had his shots and licenses. When we have taken care of him, he's always been a good dog, even cooperating with being bathed, groomed. He probably has a strictly limited diet and may need better nourishment, less caging, nails trimmed, etc., since he does have some general skin condition which a better, fuller diet might correct. The present owner is in her 90's and commented recently about her concern the dog might cause her to fall. So she needs help and the dachshund really needs a loving, caring home to live in the rest of his life. Can you open your heart to save this friend? He's used to being the only pet, by the way. At his age, I would question the idea of re-homing him with other pets or children. Thanks! [We will refund most of the $150 re-homing fee as we are assured this fella has been welcomed into a wonderful, loving home, and has not been sneakily obtained by a reseller/grouper who collects animals for resale to researchers or abuse by sick minds, as has happened many times---sadly:-( ---on craigslists! ]
