SHOREWOOD, IL — More than two weeks after four felony charges of shoplifting inside the Target store on Route 59 were filed against Darell O. Crawford, the 32-year-old Chicago man has not been taken into the Shorewood Police Department's custody, court files reflect.
On July 13, a Will County judge issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Crawford, who lives in the 2700 block of West Harrison Street in Chicago. According to the criminal complaint submitted by a Shorewood detective, Crawford is accused of stealing more than $300 of alcohol from the Target at 1111 Brookforest Ave.
The complaint indicates that Crawford was shoplifting alcohol as well as televisions from the Target store during a three-day period, April 8-10.
According to the complaint, Crawford was convicted in 2018 in Cook County of committing retail theft. As a result, the Will County State's Attorney's Office indicated that it will be seeking an enhanced sentence against Crawford based on his prior crime.
According to the bench warrant, Shorewood Police officials asked to be contacted in the event that another police agency arrests Crawford. The warrant for Crawford also indicated the following information: "Gang Entry Per Department of Corrections - Traveler Vice Lord."
