SHOREWOOD, IL — A 63-year-old Shorewood resident from the Imperial Mobile Home Park remains in the Will County Jail on felony charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of cocaine and having a fraudulent identification card. The Will County Sheriff's Office arrested Adiel Diaz, who lives in the 100 block of Jefferson Street, on Oct. 11. Eight days later, Diaz remained in the Will County Jail unable to post his $104,000 bail. The criminal complaint states that Diaz knowingly possessed "a fraudulent United States of America Permanent Resident Identification in that said defendant possessed a card purported to be an official United States of America Permanent Resident Identification." Diaz was also charged with aggravated DUI because his blood alcohol concentration was above 0.08 when he was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer on Jefferson Street in Shorewood "and the defendant did not possess a driver's license or permit or a restricted driving permit or a judicial driving permit or a monitoring device driving permit," the complaint reads. Diaz was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance. The complaint indicates that at the time of his drunken driving arrest, he was also in possession of cocaine, on Oct. 11.
