Description
Early summer's bounty comes to life in an interactive feast for all the senses at Spice Acres in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Chefs Ben Bebenroth and Jonathan Bennett found common culinary inspiration from their travels in Brazil and Peru, respectively, and created an immersive “al asador” experience that will connect us more deeply to the journey from farm to plate. With an open pit outdoor cooking station as the focal point, attendees can watch chefs roast Yellow House lamb alongside the season’s harvest from Spice Acres and other local farms over open flames. What is a Plated Landscape™ Dinner? Started in 2006, Plated Landscapes are the brainchild of Chef/Founder/Farmer, Ben Bebenroth. These al fresco dining experiences take place at our farm, Spice Acres, along with other scenic and immersive locations in Northeast Ohio. The evening begins with a welcoming reception amongst the pines, with a signature beverage and farm-inspired passed hors d'oeuvres. Then, we’re introduced to the evening's host(s) - the farmers! The group embarks on a 30-45 minute tour of the farm before gathering in our historic barn for a four-course, wine-paired dinner that incorporates food from our farm and the gems of the season’s harvest. Plated Landscapes are sure to be the most unique dining experience of your summer season! Venue: Spice Acres is a unique gem in the country. It’s one of only 10 farms that are part of a farm-leasing program in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park called the Countryside Initiative. Managed in partnership with the Countryside Conservancy, it is the only program in the country that conserves national park land through sustainable farming. Parking: On farm property - look for attendant! The Scoop: Due to the nature of this event, we are unable to accommodate dietary restrictions or special requests. If you have a Plated Landscape Gift Certificate, please call us at 216-432-9090 for a promo code as you will still need to reserve your seat via Eventbrite. Gift Certificates DO NOT ensure a seat at the table but we make every attempt to accommodate. Please wear comfortable walking shoes (heels not recommended) and dress for the forecasted weather. Please bring an umbrella and appropriate shoes if there is a chance of rain as we always try to tour the farm before dinner, rain or shine. Arrival begins at 6:00pm for hors d'oeuvres and welcome cocktail, and farm tour leaves promptly at 6:30pm, so please be timely or let Spice know in advance if you are running late. Gratuity is not included and always appreciated! A portion of the proceeds benefit Spice Field Kitchen, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to agricultural and culinary education in Northeast Ohio. *By attending a Plated Landscape you agree to be photographed and the images may be used for future marketing and social media posts*
