This two-part series will discuss the history of fire and the evolution of cooking, tools and techniques.
In part 1, you will learn about early open fire cooking and evolution of the Hearth. We will discuss structure, cleaning and care of the hearth and chimney. You'll learn about regulating temperatures while cooking and how to construct an ideal fire.
In part 2, come with all your cast-iron questions! During this portion, you'll discover all of the different cast iron cooking tools and vessels. Learn how to take care of your cookware and get hands on experience with how to rehabilitate those old and rusty pots.
