A tasting of Castle & Key's rye and their new bourbon, with Founding Partner, Will Arvin In 2012, Will Arvin came across photographs of the abandoned Old Taylor Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. He couldn’t stop thinking about its legacy and potential, so he decided to visit the property to see for himself. At the distillery, Will found caved-in roofs, boarded up windows and doors, and vegetation so overgrown that he had to use a flashlight in the middle of the day to navigate. He felt an affinity for the property and it was then that he resolved to restore the historic bourbon icon. In 2014, Will and his partner, Wes Murray, purchased the property – and the restoration began. Will Arvin will be meeting with the Brotherhood to share his fascinating bourbon story. We'll also be joined by Jonathan Newton, Director of Sales, along with Brand Ambassador, Brett Connors, who gave the Brotherhood a tour of the distillery 4 years ago (Here's one of the pics) When you arrive at the event, you'll be greeted with a welcome cocktail served from the brand-new Castle & Key trailer. Our whiskey tasting will include Castle & Key Restoration Rye as well as their newly released Small Batch Bourbon. We're going to be hosting this event at the Kosair Shrine on Bardstown Road, where you'll find plenty of free parking. Of course we'll have tasty appetizers and amazing door prizes as always.
