ROMEOVILLE, IL — As the new coronavirus crisis continues, the Verilife marijuana dispensary in Romeoville is still open for recreational users to get what they need for long stretches cooped up at home - but only by appointment. According to a statement put up on the dispensary's website on Thursday, starting March 20 all recreational users will have to call ahead and make an appointment before coming in to the shop. The appointments are the dispensary's way of complying with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's urging for people to practice social distancing amid the coronavirus crisis; to avoid social situations when possible and maintain at least six feet between individuals when not. Those who do not make an appointment with the dispensary ahead of time will not be able to purchase any products on site. The call center for appointments is open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Starting Sunday, the dispensary will be open every day except Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with appointments available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Only one reservation number is allowed per individual. More information on the appointment system, as well as the call center number, can be found on the Verilife website. Patch called the Romeoville Verilife dispensary for comment on how this development will affect medical marijuana users, but did not immediately receive a response. This article will be updated with that information should it become available. To keep on top of the latest coronavirus news, subscribe to Patch news alerts and newsletters.
