May 'OPEN GARDEN WEEKENDS'May is a great time to visit Distant Hill Gardens! We have two Open Garden Weekends in May so stop by and tour the gardens on any of these dates:
Saturday, May 7thSunday, May 8thSaturday, May 21stSunday, May 22ndThere is No Need to Register for an Open Garden Day!Suggested Donation: $10 / adultNATIVE PLANT SALE: There will be both shrubs and perennials for sale at every Open Garden Day. Most are native species propagated at Distant Hill Gardens. All proceeds go toward our 'Accessible Trail Fund ' to help us make Distant Hill more accessible to everyone.
Please Note: If you can't make it to an 'Open Garden Day' because of your schedule, you can always Contact Us to make an appointment for either a Private Guided Tour or for a self guided tour.
And Remember - the wheelchair and stroller accessible Distant Hill Nature Trail is open daily, free of charge, dawn to dusk.
SPECIAL EVENTS ON SPECIFIC MAY OPEN GARDEN DAYSSaturday May 7th - Shrub Pruning Demonstrations throughout the day. (roughly every hour on the hour) by Michael Nerrie, owner and CEO (Chief Environmental Observer) of Distant Hill Gardens. Bring you pruning questions. No Registration is required for the Pruning demo.Sunday May 8th from 2-4pm - Vernal Pool Exploration - Join Distant Hill Gardens and Nature Trail co-founder Michael Nerrie and Harris Center teacher-naturalist Ben King to explore a special wetland habitat bubbling with frog and salamander eggs, and perhaps even a few fairy shrimp! REGISTRATION is REQUIRED for the Vernal Pool Exploration Register Here...And you can join us for other 'Open Garden Weekends' on the first and third weekend of each month, May through October, from 10am to 4pm.
