ROMEOVILLE, IL — Route 53 is opening up, except the right northbound lane near Lewis University. An alert from the Village of Romeoville earlier today said that route 53 between Taylor and Renwick roads were closed due to a natural gas leak. The closure was expected to last until noon or 1 p.m. and residents were asked to avoid the area.
