The Poe Center’s Charity Golf Tournament In partnership with student volunteers from Kenan-Flagler’s MBA program, the Poe Center is hosting a charity golf fundraiser on Monday, April 18th, 2022. The tournament will bring together young professionals, Triangle businesses leaders, community members, and Poe supporters for networking, golf, and a celebration of creating a healthy community while raising funds in support of the Poe Center’s mission. Hosted at Lochmere Golf Club in Cary, participants will enjoy a four-person captain’s choice scramble with a shotgun start. A perfect format for golfers of all abilities. Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin contests and prizes for teams will keep the tournament entertaining for all. With registration, each golfer will have greens and cart fees covered, access to driving range before the tournament, a buffet breakfast, boxed lunch, goody bag, drink tickets for on course beverages, and celebration and award ceremony at the Pavilion after the tournament. Tournament Schedule Date: Monday, April 18th, 2022 Location: Lochmere Golf Club, Cary NC 7:30am - Registration and Breakfast Buffet at Pavilion 8:00am - Practice Range opens for warm-up 9:00am - Shotgun Start For Golf 1:30pm - Lunch and Awards at the Pavilion Registration Details: Single Golfer: $125 Foursome: $500 Event fees include greens and cart fees, driving range access prior to the tournament, a breakfast buffet and box lunch at the Pavilion, goody bag, drink tickets for on course beverages, and awards and prizes for top teams and special contest winners. Please be aware of the following dress code provided by Lochmere Golf Club. DRESS CODE: Proper golf attire is required for all golfers. No cut-off jeans, swimsuits, or tank tops are permitted. Men must wear shirts with a collar & sleeves or golf mock turtlenecks. Denim / blue jeans are permitted. NON-METAL SPIKES: Lochmere Golf Club is a spikeless facility. Mulligans & Packages: Mulligans and Mulligan packages can be purchased in advance or on the day of the tournament at registration. $5.00 for a single mulligan and $20 for the Poe Pack. Please note, the Poe Center will work closely with Lochmere Golf staff to host the tournament and monitor any weather situations. The event will not be canceled due to rain alone but golfer safety will be prioritized. A rain date is not scheduled. The Poe Center reserves the right to cancel the event due to weather, COVID-19, other natural disaster, government restrictions, or other unforeseen circumstances. In the event of a cancellation, the ticket cost will be considered a fully tax-deductible donation to the Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education unless otherwise requested on a case by case basis.
