We are trying "Something Clever" for our first-ever outdoor stand-up comedy event with Minneapolis comics Ryan Kahl and Grant Winkels! Join us for a night of open-air laughs on the Abbey Pub & Grub Patio with hilarious Minneapolis comics Ryan Kahl and Grant Winkels with support from UW-Stout Alum and Abbey-favorite Tommy Hutson. Show Start: 9:00PM About the Comics: Ryan Kahl - Ryan Kahl is a stand-up comedian based out of Minneapolis, MN. Ryan has performed in The 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival, Limestone Comedy Festival, and Cream City Comedy Festival, was a finalist in the 2017 Funniest Person in Minneapolis Contest, and was a 2018 Growler Magazine Comic To Watch. In addition to being a successful stand-up comedian, Ryan has found success in sketch comedy with his group Lipstick Mustache, cohosts the We Cool? Podcast and was a producer for The 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival from 2018-2020. He is whimsical, fast paced, and takes a fairly conventional approach to joke telling that feels anything but conventional. Grant Winkels - Grant Winkels has been a performer for his whole life. After years of hard partying and gigging as a musician, he finally convinced himself that he was funny. He’s been convincing audiences ever since. Examining his shortcomings past, present and future, Grant pretends to be light-hearted, but his exasperation always creeps in. He can be seen performing in the Twin Cities at the Comedy Corner Underground, The Comedy Room at Sisyphus, Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy and Laugh Camp Comedy Club. Grant co-hosts the podcast, We Cool?, where he and his friends, Tommy Bayer and Ryan Kahl read anonymous apologies that their listeners send in. He has appeared in the 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival in Minneapolis and Sno Jam Comedy Festival in Sioux Falls. He performs all over the Midwest and has opened for comedians such as Matt Braunger, Brad Williams, Kate Quigley and Mary Mack. He co-hosts a monthly show at Fair State Brewing in Northeast Minneapolis with Courtney Baka.
