On Thursday, July 16 and Friday, July 17 PG&E will be working on the permanent power supply for Piedmont High School's new STEAM building. Magnolia Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Hillside and Highland Avenues on those days from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm to promote safety at the work site. If the work finishes early, the street will be reopened to through traffic before 5:00 pm. Nonetheless, members of the community should plan an alternative route during these work hours.
During this work, PG&E may temporarily turn off power to a small number of households near the work site. PG&E has identified and contacted those households of the possible interruption in power.
The new STEAM building — for the study of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics — will be completed in August for the start of the 2020-21 school year. The building will include:
6 science labs4 computer science labs1 engineering lab with patio 7 general classrooms2 art rooms with patiosPiedmont High School's main officeConstruction of a Performing Arts Center, adjacent to the STEAM building, will continue through the Fall 2021. The Performing Arts Center will include:
