Press release from the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce:
March 15, 2022
The 45th annual Cooper River Bridge Run is just a few weeks away!
This year's race will take place on Saturday, April 2nd and MUSC Children's Hospital Fund is once again looking for volunteers to help manage the corrals at the start line in Mount Pleasant.
Volunteers will be asked to arrive at their assigned corral at 5:15 am on April 2nd. The main duty of volunteers will be to hold up ropes that separate the different corrals and lead runners to the start line. Each volunteer will be given a volunteer t-shirt that must be worn that morning. Volunteers working the corrals will be given the opportunity to participate in the race for free by jumping in at the end of their corral. Please note volunteers who choose to run in the race DO NOT get timed.
Corrals will be assigned at random the week before the race. In the event that a corral is understaffed, volunteers may be asked to move to a different corral the morning of the race.
This is such a fun volunteer opportunity and an exciting event to be a part of! If you are interested in volunteering at the race, please sign up here. Additional information, including details on t-shirt pick-up, parking instructions and corral assignments, will be sent out to all committed volunteers over the next few weeks.
