Press release from the City of Champaign:: In order to connect a storm sewer for the new Central High School Fields, Stark Excavating, Inc. will be closing Elm Street and a lane of Church Street adjacent to 500 W. Church Street. The schedule for closure is as follows: • Church Street between Prairie Street and Lynn Street: Closing the northernmost lane of Church Street between Prairie Street and Lynn Street. The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, March 21 and will reopen by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 25. During the closure, through traffic will be maintained on these blocks. • Elm Street between Hill Street and Church Street: Closing Elm Street between Hill Street and Church Street. The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, March 21 and will reopen by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 25.
