Description

PLAINFIELD, IL — A woman was airlifted via Lifestar helicopter to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital Wednesday night following a two-vehicle crash just before 8:30 p.m. on Route 126, officials said. Plainfield Fire Chief Jon Stratton said the woman was driving a minivan on Route 126 between Drauden and County Line roads when it was involved in a sideswipe-type crash with a sedan. Stratton said five other people — and man and four children, including an infant — were also in the minivan. They were taken to Rush-Copley Hospital in Aurora in fair condition, Stratton said. A man driving the sedan was taken to Amita Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet in fair to serious condition. Illinois State Police are handling the investigation. As of 10:15 p.m., Chief Stratton said the road had been cleared and is now open to traffic.
