PLAINFIELD, IL — In a social media post, the Plainfield Police Department announced that due to a planned march Thursday, officers are anticipating several temporary road closures along Lockport Street. Starting at 5:30 p.m., the following roads will be temporarily closed: Lockport Street, between Route 59 and Van Dyke RoadJames Street, between Fort Beggs Drive and Lockport StreetMain Street, between Route 59 and Lockport StreetAccording to protest organizer, participants will start at the Plainfield Central High School, walk up north James Street, turn left on Lockport Street over DuPage River and then head to Settlers' Park. "We will re-open the impacted roadways as soon as we can do so safely and provide periodic updates through our social media pages," police said in the post.
