Dear Gorgeous Guy on the Blue Line this Morning, I don’t expect that you will read this but I felt like writing you a letter anyway. I saw you earlier this morning when you boarded the same train as me headed towards O’Hare. I suspect you were going to the airport since you had some luggage with you. I was headed home. I had just a couple of stops to go before you briefly entered my life. You are tall, have long brown hair, wear glasses and beautiful blue eyes. Something about you made my heart skip a beat. You sat across from me but I don’t think you noticed me. I’m sort of grateful you didn’t because if you had, you would have seen me gawking at you. If I had the courage to speak to you, I would have told you how incredibly gorgeous you are. Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you, even if it’s just shouting it out to the universe by way of Craigslist’s missed connections. It’s been a very long time since anyone made my heart skip a beat. Even if just for a moment. I stopped believing in romance after my divorce from my husband but seeing you this morning has me hoping again. I hope you had a safe flight, we’re ever you are now.
