PETALUMA, CA — A Petaluma man was tracked down and arrested Saturday night in connection with a suspected domestic violence incident, police said. Officers were dispatched just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday to a report of domestic violence in the 200 block of Kentucky Street, Petaluma police Sgt. Ryan McGreevy said. "Upon arrival, officers learned the victim's ex-boyfriend, David Trahan, had just left the area in his truck," McGreevy said. "It was believed Trahan was in the area looking for the victim. Trahan encountered the victim's friend and pointed a handgun at her while making intimidating remarks." Later that evening as the investigation continued, a Sonoma County sheriff's deputy spotted Trahan's truck in the parking lot of a shopping center in Petaluma. Petaluma officers, including a K-9 team, responded and took Trahan into custody. "Multiple firearms were located in Trahan's vehicle including a handgun, concealed in the center console, which matched the description of the gun used earlier in the evening," McGreevy said. Trahan was booked into Sonoma County jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, felony domestic violence and carrying a concealed pistol in a vehicle. Trahan remained behind bars Monday morning in lieu of $50,000 bail pending a court appearance Tuesday afternoon, according to jail records. Petaluma PD was continuing its investigation and asked anyone with information to call Officer Richard Clark at 707-778-4372.
