Adorable young Pit/Hound mix *urgently needs home

I'm a volunteer at the Wake County Animal Shelter and wanted to post about this very special young dog named "Pun'kin" that needs a home. Pun'kin was pulled from the shelter by a rescue group when the shelter was over crowded. The rescue group has asked me to help find him a home as soon as possible as he is currently at a boarding facility and he needs to be in a home. This sweet fella is such a good boy and I would foster him myself if I didn't already have a male dog that doesn't like others. I have spent alot of time with Pun'kin and can tell you he adores people, he is very smart and eager to learn. He loves to ride in the car (I have taken him to several vet appointments and drove him to the boarding facility). Pun'kin loves to go on walks and do basically anything with you. He loves when you sit down and talk to him, he will nudge up against you and just look at your face. Pun'kin loves to eat also - he is not a picky eater and loves treats so that will make it easier to train him. My heart is broken that he is in a boarding facility when he craves human attention so much. If anyone is even willing to foster him, that would get him into a loving home and he would have a soft bed to sleep in. Pun'kin is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. He is heartworm positive and will need to be treated eventually. Also, Pun'kin seems to be dog selective, he tested well with a female german shephard and was playful with her. He likely would do well with an easy-going female dog. I would not pair him with a male dog. Please contact me if you can help this sweet boy. He desparately needs a loving home right now.
