Putin spent four years laying the groundwork for his conquest while Trump was president. Putin advanced his agenda, while Trump happily watched. Putin weakened American democracy while Trump took Putin's word over American intelligence. Trump undermined NATO. Trump and Putin dissolved decades old nuclear treaties. Trump tried to block aid to Ukraine. Heck, why not? Trump owes a lot of money to Russian creditors. Selling out the USA to gain favor with Putin is a very Trumpy thing to do. As president, Trump was Putin's useful idiot. Since Trump got his ass handed to him in November 2020, he is now a useless idiot.
