Based in Raleigh, we are the leading global supplier of lab, and low volume production, UHT/HTST, aseptic, and pasteurization equipment. We work in the food, biotech, and pharmaceutical industries. In the food industry, we work mostly in the R&D area. Our equipment is used to develop new beverages, milk drinks, soy and other milks, smoothies, juices, ice cream, yogurts, puddings, sauces and more. You probably consume something every day that was developed on our equipment! In the biotech and pharma industries, our equipment has been used to create new medications, special extracts, and microbial media used for a variety of scientific applications. We are currently seeking an Automation Technician with control and automation experience. Primary duties include assembling & wiring control panels, as well as electrically integrating lab-scale equipment. Must be proficient in PLC based multi-component control wiring, familiar with electrical components (relays, contactors, power supplies, etc.), and able to read wiring diagrams and schematics. Applicant must be able to follow proper procedures for wiring and routing of wires/cables, plus test and calibration of equipment. Must be able to maintain consistency in quality and quantity of work, as well as maintain documentation for current and future projects. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must work well with others, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Must have basic experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical circuits and possess basic mechanical skills. Must have knowledge and ability to work with multiple phases and voltages from 24 volts DC to 480 volts AC. Must have basic computer knowledge with programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Some facility/commercial electrical wiring experience, conduit bending, and forklift operation a plus. Applicant must provide basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, multi- meter, etc.). During slow periods, applicant may be asked to perform miscellaneous & varied tasks around the facility as needed. Physical requirements include ability to climb ladders and stairs, lift up to 100 pounds, maneuver around on floor to integrate panels into full operating system, and sit stationary for long periods of time. Must be able to effectively communicate in English, and be able to distinguish between various wiring colors. All applicants will be required to submit to a wiring skills evaluation as part of the initial interview process.
