Description
Ready for Rescue is trying to keep Rocky, a 6-year-old 100 lb. Lab/Dane mix out of the shelter. His family has had him since he was a puppy and he's been a model dog. He's friendly, cuddly and well-trained. He gets along well with the neighbor's Jack Russell and he's good on the leash. The father recently tried to take a bone away from Rocky and he got bit. He admitted that was a mistake but the family is now "afraid" of him. If we can't find a home for Rocky, he will end up in the city shelter where he will likely be put down.
Because of his potential resource guarding he should go to an experienced home with no young children. Ready for Rescue will contribute to his training. If anyone is interested, we will connect them with the family for a meet and greet.
Ready for Rescue is a 501 3 C non-profit committed to saving cats and dogs from the streets and shelters of NYC.
