The Nehemiah Action is an annual interfaith event of empowered citizens and elected officials working to address issues and find solutions. The Annual NEHEMIAH ACTION brings together over 1200 people from 40 congregations from throughout Miami-Dade County working together to hold elected officials accountable for addressing the challenges facing Miami-Dade County residents. From housing and gun violence to poverty and the environment, the NEHEMIAH ACTION harnesses the power of collective action to get results for the residents of Miami-Dade County! The event is free and open to the public. This year's NEHEMIAH ACTION ASSEMBLY will be a "Drive-In" at Dezerland Park in North Miami, Florida. All participants will remain in their cars throughout the event; limited outdoor seating is available. Elected officials from Miami-Dade County and selected municipalities will be called upon to make commitments to address significant issues, live and in front of the audience of concerned and engaged citizens of various faiths, race, ethnicity, gender, sex, socioeconomic status, neighborhoods and walks of life. During the proceedings, all attendees are asked to refrain from heckling or any form of outburst. When we get a commitment of "YES" from our elected officials, we shout #LetJusticeRoll, flash our headlights and blow our horns; when we don't, we ask for absolute silence which is a powerful display of resistance! But change is only won when we SHOW UP in big numbers! Therefore the NEHEMIAH ACTION strongly encourages everyone to attend in-person to help us press for change!
