Join horticulture instructor Sam Oschwald Tilton to learn strategies and guidance for tending to summer vegetable crops.
Vegetable gardeners, this is your chance to learn strategies for tending to summer vegetable crops in a hands-on setting! Join horticulture instructor Sam Oschwald Tilton for this Community Education course at Lakeshore Technical College on Saturday, June 11, 2022.
You'll learn to trellis and prune tomatoes to avoid disease, protect crops from pests, and conserve water. You'll have a chance to practice planting for a continuous harvest. During the session, we'll plant seasonal cover-crops to improve the soil. You will then leave the class session with the same seeds from class so that you can use what you learn to follow along in your own vegetable garden.
This course is part of a series on vegetable gardening. Feel free to purchase tickets for just this course, for several courses, or for all four remaining vegetable gardening courses in the series!
