The rapper/singer-songwriter/producer brings a boundless energy to his music, which is an experimental blend of traditional rap, indie rock, and soul. His music aims to mimic the universe’s energy, using that same life force to tackle existential moments with positivity. “I’m consciously looking to lift both myself and other people up and put good out into the world. I just feel like that's how I'm useful,” Felly explains. “That doesn't mean it's all going to be sunshine and flowers. You have to talk about the dark as well, I use music to find harmony in a world of duality." Felly is the latest signee to 300 Entertainment, and he’s kicking off this thrilling new era with his third album Young Fel 2. For the artist, though, every new album is treated as a fresh restart. It is partly inspired by a growing curiosity about spirituality through hobbies like meditation and collecting religious art. Young Fel 2, the official sequel to Felly’s 2016 debut EP. The new album features his experimental blend of traditional rap, indie rock, and soul; revisiting his rap roots with the original EP’s childlike and playful nature, but with a new-age mindset paired with darker tones that align with the album’s release date during Felly’s favorite month of the year - October. Describing the project, Felly says “it’s a nighttime album, one you listen to driving at night in the car.” Felly previously took fans on a ride with the release of "Fast Car" and "Still Young.” "Fast Car" serves as a reflection of fast-moving times and taking the time to slow down, which the pandemic inherently allowed for him and the rest of the world to do. "Still Young" celebrates life and vitality, no matter the age, preaching that 'being' young means freedom and taking in the various experiences that life has to offer. “Pot of Gold,” led the way to the full body of work, Young Fel 2, that was released on October 22. Fans will hear the determination, attitude, and vast musical influence that brings Felly to Young Fel 2. Young Fel 2 is a full-circle moment that celebrates how far Felly’s career has excelled after recording Young Fel 1 with his college friends. Felly is taking a clear look at what he's learned, how he's evolved, and where he wants to go - Young Fel 2 is a journey through music. Presenting Felly's distinct sound with a twist, the artist experiments with folk-inspired tunes and an evolving alternate sound. Young Fel 2 is a blend of classic hip-hop/indie hybrid tracks with a new-to-Felly future sound. The album follows 2020’s moody Mariposa that found Felly maneuvering through the self-described “dark night of the soul”. "Mariposa was representative of a butterfly leaving a cocoon, or finding a way out of a dark space. But Young Fel 2 feels we're in flight,” he says. “A quote my good friend told me that I like to live by is "you have to make sure you're dancing in the dark so when the light shines on you, you're already in motion –– not a deer in the headlights.’” Felly has maintained that outlook since growing up in Connecticut as the youngest of three children. Through his siblings and step-family, he discovered a range of artists like Rage Against the Machine, Brand New, Nas, Cam’ron and Lil Wayne. He also references the incisive energy of Bob Marley & The Wailers’ 1975 classic “ Lively Up Yourself” as inspiration. At age 13, Felly began making soulful beats on a MPC500 (with legends like Sam Cooke, Betty LaVette and Barbra Streisand as sample references), inspired by newfound creativity after his dad’s passing at 8 years old. Around this time, he launched a YouTube channel that began building his dedicated following. Felly continued his musical discovery by moving to Los Angeles (where he still resides) to study music at the University of Southern California. There, he formed the 2273 collective with friends Gyyps and Jake Stanley, whose title was inspired by the dorm room where they all collaborated on music. The trio quickly formed an organic bond and still work together to this day. Following a series of mixtapes and EPs (his first project being 2014’s Waking up to Sirens), Felly released his debut album Surf Trap in 2018. As Felly’s star status continues to soar, he hopes to inspire others to awaken their inner passions. And his reach goes far beyond the California coastline: Felly has over 1.3 million monthly listeners, over 300 million streams across platforms, has had multiple US sold-out tours, and received critical praise from Billboard, GRAMMY.com, XXL, Hypebeast, and more. The artist’s free spirit has also led to an eclectic mix of artist collaborations including Carlos Santana, Jack Harlow, Ari Lennox, MAX, Kota The Friend, and more. “Music is my attempt at talking with God. I’m working with sounds to tap into that channel where creation comes from and to strip away everything but what is pure,” he explains. “No matter how big or small someone is — you can be a janitor or the richest guy in the world — if you're truly tuned in to what your personal work is, you're serving your purpose.” For more information on the artist please visit: https://www.fellymusic.com Venue rules include: No backpacks or bags larger than 18" x 12" x 4", no skateboards, no weapons (including concealed carry), no professional photography or audio/video recording, no smoking/vaping inside the venue, no alcohol or other drugs.
