Description
Join us for theTEA, where we discuss the "elephant in the room". Designers are moving around. What does that really look and feel like? Five designers and one industry partner will discuss making the switch from different design segments, why they made the switch and what it looks like on the other side. We will also talk to one industry partner who worked as a sales representative, then went back to design only to leave again. For those who have considered making a switch or are looking to hear from people who have experienced something similar to what you're considering, this TEA is for you! Schedule: 11:30 a.m. - Check-in for light finger foods, drinks and socializing 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. - The Tea 1:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. - Q&A Session Location: Pear Workplace Solutions, Building Conference Room Parking: Street parking or garage nearby -What is 'the TEA'?Hosted by the IIDA RMC Board, the Tea is an ongoing series of fireside-chats with rotating topics and guest speakers, created with the intention to: 1) Bring our design community together. Both IIDA RMC members and nonmembers are encouraged to join, engage, interact, and connect with each other and with our guest speakers - during and after our events. We aim to create an environment that is welcoming for all, and that fosters individual and group connections, to build an inclusive and supportive design community. 2) Provide a fun and casual avenue for discussing some of the complex issues we face in today's building design & construction industry. We know that "spilling the Tea" is a playful phrase, and this is intentional. While many of the topics we plan to cover are complex and nuanced, we hope that by providing this avenue for discussion, and keeping it fun and casual, we can normalize these sometimes tough conversations - creating space for positive change. We don't presume to have the answers... but we hope that by asking the questions, we are taking a step in the right direction.
