Join us as we celebrate the cherry blossoms and the global popularity of Japanese anime movies. Anime Movie Days at The WharfWe celebrate the coming of spring and the friendship between the US and Japan each year when the cherry blossoms bloom. Join us for one of Japan's most loved exports - anime movies, playing outside on the 20-foot LED screen at Transit Pier. We'll screen 6 great titles, including Okko's Inn and Ghost in the Shell. All movies will be dubbed in English, ratings are indicated by each title. See below for FAQs. Anime Movie Days at The Wharf Schedule:3/26 2pm Okko's Inn (PG) After losing her parents in a car accident, Okko starts living in the countryside with her grandmother who runs a traditional Japanese inn. While she prepares to be the next owner of the inn, Okko can somehow see friendly ghosts. 3/26 4:30pm Miss Hokusai (PG13) The life and works of Japanese artist and ukiyo-e painter Katsushika Hokusai, as seen from the eyes of his daughter, Katsushika O-Ei. 3/26 7pm Steamboy (PG13) In 1860s Britain, a boy inventor finds himself caught in the middle of a deadly conflict over a revolutionary advance in steam power. 3/27 2pm A Letter to Momo (NR) 11-year-old Momo moves with her mother to a small island town after her father dies. When she arrives, she encounters three goblins that others cannot see who try to help her to cope with the loss of her father and the changes in her life. 3/27 4:30pm The Sky Crawlers (PG13) The Kildren, a group of eternally young fighter pilots, experience the sudden loss of innocence as they battle the enemy in astonishing dogfights above the clouds. 3/27 7pm Ghost in the Shell (TV-MA) A cyborg policewoman and her partner hunt a mysterious and powerful hacker called the Puppet Master. Look for the movie check in sign on Wharf Street.Children under the age of three may attend free of charge.You can purchase snacks and drinks (beer, wine, and Pepsi products) from the Cantina Bambina snack window to enjoy at your seat.You may bring food from a Wharf restaurant into the movie but no food from home.You are welcome to bring a blanket with you.Tickets are non-transferrable between screenings.
