Our headliner, Nemr Abou–Nassar is a cultural leader in the MENA region, drawing upon honest and outspoken humor to connect people from all over the world. Nemr discusses taboo topics, shining a light on the problems our world faces while calling audience members to action—in hopes people will alter the way they view disparate people and cultures. We are excited that we will be partnering with the American University of Beirut Medical Center. Due to COVID and instability in the region, the AUB’s Medical Center has been in desperate need of donations and supplies to continue serving people throughout the Middle East. The AUBMC is the first medical institution in the Middle East to have earned five international accreditations, attesting to its superior standards in patient-centered care, nursing, pathology/laboratory services, and graduate medical education. AUBMC’s impact on the medical sector and on improving people’s lives is without equal in the Arab world. With our organization’s mission and goals to continue supporting our communities beyond Cal’s campus, we are excited to partner with AUBMC, providing student donations, organizational pledges, and a portion of ticket & merchandise sales to support them. *For UC Berkeley and its affiliates*
