CHATHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ - The Passaic Street bridge will be closing down on April 1, but the closing is no joke. The work is estimated to take a year, officials said. According to officials, there will be signs and detours set up several weeks in advance, giving motorists time to take note of the changes. Detours will be going through Central Avenue Bridge and Morris Avenue Bridge in Summit. Union County is estimating that the bridge will be closed for approximately one year and that they will be working 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. There will be concrete barricades in place at the Chatham Township border during this construction phase, officials said. Thanks for reading!
