Ride in style on one of our restored Illinois Central dining cars as you enjoy a delicious three-course dinner and enjoy the scenery. On Saturday May 7th, join us for a “Taste of New Orleans” on board a unique train ride! Experience a taste of New Orleans cooking that harkens back to the Illinois Central Railroad’s famous “City of New Orleans” that traveled through Central Illinois. Passengers on board this themed event will be treated to a three-course meal prepared by Holly's Country Kitchen of Monticello aboard one of our historic dining cars. This approximately two-hour train ride departs at 5:00 PM from the Wabash Depot in downtown Monticello. Ride in style as you enjoy one of the following entree options: Shrimp Ravioli Etoufee Chicken and Sausage Pot Pie Gluten Free Pot Pie Each entree will be accompanied by a Mardi Gras Salad, Red Beans and Rice, and Beignets for dessert! Beverages available onboard will include various sodas, tea (sweet or unsweet), honey tea, lemonade, and water. Tickets for this event are available for $65 per passenger. Please note that due to capacity constraints of the dining cars, parties of less than four may be seated onboard with passengers not necessarily from their party. If multiple members of a party desire to sit together, all tickets must be purchased in the same order. All passengers are welcome to dress up in the spirit of New Orleans!
