The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., MECCA Chapter Presents: Women LEAD! 10th Annual Leadership and Scholarship Awards Brunch The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., MECCA Chapter 501c(3) Presents Women LEAD! 10th Annual Fundraiser Leadership and Scholarship Awards Brunch is the MECCA chapter's annual signature event major fundraising campaign. The annual scholarship fundraiser generates funding and increases awareness about the education, mentoring, and scholarship awards components of the Little Ladies of MECCA® Education and Mentoring Program (LLM). We invite you to BE THE DIFFERENCE as a patron and participant on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 11:00 AM ET. The Little Ladies of MECCA® Program is the MECCA Chapter's award-winning education and mentoring program designed to empower and educate adolescent and teenage girls in grades 8-12. These future legacy leaders receive training and development in health and wellness, financial literacy to ensure their understanding of economic empowerment and civic and social engagement. The program's baseline focus is on education and academic excellence, including science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, otherwise known as STEAM. Through the mentoring component, MECCA Chapter members and our corporate and community partners work with each participant to instill a sense of self, worth, esteem, and esprit de corps. As a result, participants are better prepared for their matriculation through the post-secondary institution of their choosing and subsequently society as a proud black woman. Upon high school graduation, we award each eligible participant with $5,000 in scholarship funds towards her post-secondary school tuition. The NCBW MECCA Chapter Scholarship Fundraiser is where we showcase the LLM participants. It is also the forum in which we present our graduating high school seniors with their commemorative $5,000 scholarship checks. Since 2010, NCBW MECCA has awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors in our program. Proceeds from this scholarship fundraiser will benefit the Little Ladies of MECCA® Scholarship Fund. The Annual Scholarship Fundraiser is also the forum where we pay homage to African American women who have garnered significant achievements in their communities. We will recognize African American women who have achieved excellence in health, economic empowerment, education, and civic/social engagement during the event. We will also celebrate an African American female leader with our annual Harriet Tubman Trailblazer award. This annual scholarship luncheon will feature the extraordinary talents of Atlanta’s newest fashion designers. You will have a unique experience as they showcase their incredible diversity of ideas and styles that constitute the world of fashion. You may contribute to the scholarship fundraiser in the form of ticket purchases, corporate-entrepreneurial-community partner sponsorships, and individual donations.
