Fun and educational event for families with children five and younger. Free books, balls and blocks while supplies last. As the children engage in developmentally appropriate play, parents will learn how to observe and evaluate their child’s development through a reliable, valid and easy to use screening tool. Our goal is to support the healthy development of children in our community by ensuring they are developmentally on track during the first five years of life. Early detection of developmental delays can make all the difference to a young child. The earlier a developmental concern is identified, the greater the chance a child has for reaching his or her full potential in life. The Early Learning Coalition of Marion County provides families with access to quality early learning programs that nurture children’s learning potential and prepare them for their educational success. The Coalition’s mission is to provide leadership and foster partnerships to optimize a quality early learning environment for our children through child care, voluntary pre-kindergarten and parent education.
