What comes to mind when you think about the factors that contribute to student success? Parental involvement, effective teachers, teaching good study skills? All these qualities are beneficial for helping students achieve. But one trait that many do not often consider is student happiness.
There is growing evidence that reveals happy students get better grades. This is not to say that happiness is causing students to get better grades, but those who express greater life satisfaction are more likely to do better in school. Furthermore, it is possible that if a child is not happy, many of the efforts mentioned above will not help to foster student success.
