Good morning, people of Norfolk! It's me again, Sean Peek, your host of the Norfolk Daily. First, today's weather: Fog in the morning; some sun. High: 72 Low: 61. Here are the top three stories today in Norfolk: For over a year, the Norfolk Police Department investigated a woman known only as "Mya," who allegedly stole Rolex watches, a Louis Vuitton duffel bag, and cash from her Tinder date in September of 2020. Recently-released court records revealed that DNA found on a toothbrush eventually led to the identification and arrest of the suspect, 23-year-old Shaunti Robinson. Robinson has been charged with grand larceny. (News 3 WTKR Norfolk)The Norfolk Police Department is conducting an investigation into reports of people throwing rocks at passing cars downtown. The department reports that a driver contacted the department after their windshield was shattered while traveling under an overpass. According to reports filed by the witnesses, four people were involved in the rock-throwing. (News 3 WTKR Norfolk)An Evergreen cargo ship destined for Norfolk did not leak fuel when it ran aground in the Chesapeake Bay, according to a ship operator's report. The ship, named the Ever Forward, was inspected by divers and there is currently no estimate on how long it will take to refloat the vessel. Initial investigations have not rendered a verdict on what caused the ship to run aground. (The Virginian-Pilot) From our sponsor: Today's newsletter is brought to you by Ring, a Patch Brand Partner.
