Press release from Christopher Newport University: Christopher Newport's public comment hearing will be held on Tuesday, March 29, from 3:45 until 5 p.m. The meeting will be held in the David Student Union Board Room and will begin with an informational overview of the operating budget, how tuition and fees are set, and key factors influencing tuition and fees this year. At the time of this public notice, the 2022 General Assembly session adjourned without finalizing a state budget for the 2022-2024 biennium. The budget, and Christopher Newport's general fund allocation in particular, plays a key role in the Board of Visitors' ability to set tuition and fees. Therefore, the final decision on tuition and fee levels is contingent on passage of the budget.
