Body Found At Scene Of North Coventry Fire

NORTH COVENTRY, PA — One person was found dead following a fire Wednesday in North Coventry, authorities said. The incident occurred at around 9 a.m. on the 400 block of Kline Avenue, according to police. Police and fire crews arrived to the scene to find heavy smoke coming from the roof, and the interior of the home engulfed in flames. The victim was found dead once firefighters were able to make their way into the home. Crews were able to extinguish the fire, and an investigation is underway involving several units. The North Coventry Police Department Detective Unit, North Coventry Fire Marshals Office, Chester County Fire Marshals Office, Chester County Coroners Office and the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshals Unit are all looking into the incident. It remains unclear what caused the fire. The victim has not yet been identified, and release of further information is pending an autospy from the Chester County Coroner's Office. Goodwill, Pottstown, Ridge, Limerick, Twin Valley, and Sanatoga fire companies all responded to the scene.
