GLEN BURNIE, MD — A teenage girl was shot and hospitalized Thursday in Glen Burnie, police said. Officers expect her to survive. Authorities heard about the shooting in the 6000 block of Harris Heights around 4:05 a.m. Police said they found the 17-year-old with a gunshot wound to her torso. An officer gave the victim first aid until medics arrived and took her to an unnamed hospital. Detectives think this was a targeted shooting, not a random act of violence. Authorities are still investigating. The Anne Arundel County Police Department asked anybody with information to call (410) 222-6135. Tipsters can stay anonymous by dialing (410) 222-4700.
