Animal Control Officer or Officer Trainee – Enforces City Codes related to animals. Maintains the health and welfare of animals while in City custody and care. Educates the public to assure the humane treatment of animals. Must be able to organize material, write reports, and communicate well with residents and other professionals. Will represent the City at Animal Control Commission, District Court, and Administrative Review Board Hearings. Work hours for this position will be: Tuesday through Friday Evenings 11:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Qualified applicants for the Trainee position must have one year experience in an animal welfare related field. Applicants for the Officer position must have one year of experience as an Animal Control Officer and completion of a Cruelty 1 training class. *COVID-19 vaccination required in order to qualify for this position Salary: Animal Control Officer - $27.46 Hourly, Officer Trainee - $24.03 Hourly How to Apply: please visit the city’s website at: www.cityofbowie.org and click on the employment link.
