Press release from the City of Iowa City: March 16, 2022 At approximately 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2022, an individual reported a dog bite incident that occurred while running in the area of Deforest Avenue and Franklin Street. The individual stated they were running and passed a female who was walking her dog on a leash. The individual accidentally stepped on the dog's foot and the dog bit their hand. The female dog owner is described as being in her 30s with blonde hair. The dog is described as a brindle Boxer-type dog, wearing a prong collar. Iowa City Animal Services is looking to locate the owner of the dog for information regarding its rabies vaccination history. If anyone has information about the identity of the owner, they are encouraged to contact Iowa City Animal services directly and 319-356-5295 or the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-5275.
