Hoboken Teens Win Slew Of Awards In Model UN Debate Competition

HOBOKEN, NJ — The Hoboken High School Model United Nations Team won a slew of awards last week in the 2022 St. Peter's University Model United Nations Debate Competition. This year, the competition was held over a two-day in person in Jersey City, drawing students from around the state. Hoboken High School earned the Best Overall School Delegation for their performance at the conference. In addition to Best School Delegation, Hoboken High School's members earned the following individual awards: UN Committee Security Council: Albania Frances Michaels and Genevieve Fink, 2 Best Delegates CSW: Japan Shelia Liam/ Abigail Scott, 2 Honorable Mentions FAO Jayla Dale and Paz De La Torre, 2 Most Improved UNEA: Israel Daniel Weintraub and Kendall McDonough, 2 Best Delegation Awards UNIDO: Japan Gina Cruz and Juliet Hysen, 2 Honorable Mentions; UNIDO Israel Julia Critz and Sage Gurtman, 2 Best Delegation UNESCO: Japan Aidan Betancourt and Coby Kriegel, 2 Best Delegation UNESCO: Spain Valeria Garcia Quintero and Napoleon Garcia Quintero, 2 Most Improved WHO: Japan Zoe Magaletta and Camila Saurez, 2 Honorable Mentions Outstanding Delegation: Hoboken High School overall The district said, "Congratulations to Mr. Huggins, Mr. D'Benado, and the entire Model United Nations Team."
