Tucker Academy is a start-up company designed to prioritize the social/emotional needs of students. Currently, we seek to develop a pool of qualified educators interested in joining our family as an independent contractor on a per diem basis. Qualifications Mandatory:  1) prior work experience with students; 2) minimum of Bachelor Degree; 3) current clearances, current CPR/First-Aid certifications, proof of completion for mandated reporter training, and professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain) Preferred:  1) prior K-12 teaching experience; 2) valid Pa Instructional I certification; 3) familiarity with Zoom and Google productivity suite * * It is important to note that aside from the aforementioned criteria, the GREATEST EMPHASIS for qualification will be based around a candidate's organic support and alignment with the values and vision held by Tucker Academy. Responsibilities (include, but not necessarily limited to): • Assisting students with homework, projects, test prep, research and other academic tasks (varies based on grade/subject) • Working with students to help them understand key curricular concepts [especially those being taught via distance learning or homeschooling due to Covid] • Teaching study strategies, note-taking, test-taking, and other executive-functioning skills  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of at least one primary subject area and grade level (elementary, middle, high)  • Administration of program-specific goals to track progress and identify areas of improvement • Ability to effectively adapt and differentiate instruction to meet student needs • Consistently show patience and compassion • Provide students with positive, constructive feedback and encouraging affirmations • Maintain complete and accurate student records Compensation Part-time, contract, negotiable/competitive hourly rate Locations Serviced There is a highest need for individuals in the Montgomery, Berks, Chester, Delaware, and Bucks County, Pa regions.
