NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported several crimes that occurred in the area between Monday, March 7, and Sunday, March 13. Read below to see all incidents: Monday, March 7 Police responded to West Bristol Road at Newtown Road for a report of a single-vehicle traffic accident; a driver struck a deer in the roadway.Police responded to Bustleton Pike at Tanyard Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident; two drivers were backing out of their parking spots and struck each other. Police responded to Newtown Richboro Road at Township Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident; one driver rear-ended another. Tuesday, March 8 A theft from a vehicle was reported from a business off Industrial Drive. The complainant reports that an unknown person stole the catalytic convertor from one of his trucks overnight. A two-vehicle accident was reported from Hatboro Road at Virginia Drive; one driver rear-ended another. The striking driver required a tow.Wednesday, March 9 Police responded to Tanyard Road at Bustleton Pike for a report of a two-vehicle accident; one driver rear-ended another. There were no reported injuries and neither vehicle required a tow. A two-vehicle accident was reported from the 1100 block of 2nd St. Pike; one driver rear-ended another. There were no reported injuries and neither vehicle required a tow. A theft from a vehicle was reported from Commerce Drive. The complainant reports an unknown person stealing the catalytic converter from his Ford E-450. The theft occurred between March 7 and March 9.Police responded to Upper Holland Road at Bustleton Pike for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident; a driver turned left in front of another car and caused a collision. There were no reported injuries and neither vehicle required a tow. Thursday, March 10 A report of fraud was made at the police department's headquarters. The complainant reports that he wrote a $40 check and placed it in the mailbox at Village Shires Shopping Center back in January. He later checked his bank account and noticed the $40 check was altered to $4,200 and also the "Pay to" was changed. The complainant notified his bank and they are investigating.Friday, March 11 Police responded to the lower lot of Council Rock South for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident; one driver backed into another. There were no reported injuries and neither vehicle required a tow. Police responded to a business parking lot off Hatboro Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident; one driver backed into another. Police responded to a residence off Elm Avenue for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The complainant reports an unknown person stealing the catalytic converter from his Toyota Prius. Saturday, March 12 Police responded to Golden Gate Drive for the report of a hit and run accident. The complainant reports a dark vehicle was traveling northbound on the road when they swerved off the roadway and struck a fire hydrant before fleeing the scene.Sunday, March 13 Police responded to a residence for a report of a simple assault. A person at the scene was taken into custody and later processed and arraigned. Police responded to the 800 block of Buck Road for a report of a single-vehicle traffic accident; a driver struck a deer in the roadway. There were no reported injuries and the vehicle did not require a tow. Police responded to the 200 block of Newtown Richboro Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident; one driver backed into another. There were no reported injuries and neither vehicle required a tow.
