Press release from the St. Louis County Government: March 17, 2022 ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (March 17, 2022) - Maxine Clark, Founder of Build A Bear Workshop , will visit the St. Louis County Justice Center Friday to kick off a new women's leadership development prog ram for corrections officers. The women's leadership program has been designed by female Department of Justice Services (DJS) staff with the goal of encouraging more women to apply for leadership positions within the department Currently, only eight of the top 50 supervisors and managers for DJS are women. Maxine will speak to staff members about her journey, challenges and tips for success. After her talk, she will also visit with Justice Center detainees. Local female leaders in business, civic, and government communities have been asked to participate in this professional development program. The schedule for future speakers is being finalized and will be announced at a later date.
