Woodland Police Chief Meets with Students at Local School

Woodland, CA – On Wednesday, Woodland Police Chief Derrek Kaff met with students at Cesar Chavez Community School, located at 255 W. Beamer St. in Woodland, to invite them to participate in a new Youth Police Advisory Council the police department is launching. Kaff met with students during their lunchtime to share the opportunity and listen to their concerns. In speaking with students, Chief Kaff said, "Our goal is to allow youth to have a voice with the Office of the Chief of Police." During his visit, Kaff was also joined by County Superintendent Garth Lewis and Rogelio Villagrana, Woodland Joint Unified Trustee and member of the Police Chief's Advisory Board. The Woodland Youth Police Advisory Council is planning to meet monthly and is open to high school students who live or attend school in Woodland. Teens interested in applying to serve on the advisory council are asked to apply by April 1.
