PALO ALTO, CA — Stanford University officials want visitors to the Cantor Arts Center to say hello to a new sculpture installed last month. OY/YO is bright yellow on a white marble base and is a gift of Debi and Steven Wisch and the Rehmus Family. Artist Deborah Kass created the sculpture, which is meant to encourage students and visitors to stop by the art center. "The brightly colored, monumental piece has something to say - and not just because it's a play on words," the center's director Susan Dackerman said in a statement. "One thing we hope it conveys to students and visitors is a good-natured 'Come in! You are welcome here,'" she said. Kass is a Brooklyn-based sculptor, painter and printmaker.
