PALATINE, IL —Palatine has 399 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and seven deaths reported in its village limits as of Wednesday morning, according to Cook County Health Department and Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Among the areas hardest hit in suburban Cook County are Des Plaines, where there are currently 1,1199 confirmed cases and 65 deaths; Niles, which currently has 610 cases and 76 deaths; and Wheeling, where 523 people currently have the coronavirus and 16 have died, according to the Suburban Cook County Health Department's COVID-19 surveillance data website and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office website. On Monday, Palatine Village Hall reopened to the public with adjusted hours and services. However, visitors must comply with Gov. J.B. Pritzker's Executive Order by wearing a face mask/covering while in the building. For the weeks of May 18 and May 25 the Village Hall hours will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 25.
