PALATINE, IL — The state's largest school district will kick off the school year with all students connecting remotely to their classes on Aug. 13, Township High School District 211 Superintendent Lisa Small said in a letter emailed Monday to families. District 211's feeder districts, Palatine Township Elementary 15 and Schaumburg Township Elementary 54, will also start the school year remotely, officials said.
"Once COVID-19 case rates consistently decline in our region, we will begin to allowsmall, controlled numbers of students to enter the school building in academicsupport settings," Small said, in the letter.

However, Small added that there will be no requirement for students to attend in-person.

More information: CCSD 15In a letter shared Monday with families and staff, Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54Superintendent Andy DuRoss announced staff will return Aug. 17, and the first day of school will be Aug. 24 for students in first through eighth grade, and Aug. 31 for early childhood and kindergarten students.
